We usually meet at the RSPB café at South Stack on Anglesey, a perfect spot to start the day. Over a coffee, we’ll chat through your experience and climbing background so we can tailor the day to suit your needs and ambitions.
Before heading out, we’ll look at the extra kit that’s essential for sea cliff climbing. We’ll also take time to study the tides and weather conditions, helping us choose the right crag with the driest, most sheltered rock.
Once on location, we’ll focus on setting up a static rope to abseil safely into the sea cliff. We’ll also cover how to ascend the rope—a key skill in case we end up in the wrong spot or the route turns out to be too challenging.
Throughout the day, we’ll talk about how the sea affects the rock, what to look for in good conditions, and how to make safe, informed decisions. And of course, we’ll climb—learning new skills while enjoying one of the most dramatic and inspiring environments in UK climbing.
Sea cliff climbing is a truly unique experience. With seals swimming below, waves crashing at your feet, and unforgettable views, there’s nothing quite like it.
