• We’ll meet in the morning at a car park in either the Lake District or North Wales, depending on where you would prefer the course to run. Before heading out, we’ll chat through your experience and goals for the day, kit that we need and what we need to take with us for a day scrambling. We’ll then pick suitable scrambles to practice on..

Out on the hill, we’ll look at how to move efficiently and confidently over steeper, more exposed terrain. You’ll learn both unroped and roped scrambling techniques, with a focus on good footwork, route choice, and decision-making.

You’ll learn how to use a rope to safeguard yourself and your partner and we’ll cover key skills like using natural anchors, placing basic protection, and building simple belays when needed.

The day is all about building confidence and judgement so you can move more independently on Grade 2 and 3 scrambles, or start preparing for more advanced terrain. Whether you're new to scrambling or looking to refine your skills, we’ll tailor the day to suit your experience and ambitions.
